Hi <<First Name>>,

I’m not going to sugar coat it – the Philippines has it tough right now. In August, the nation overtook Indonesia as the COVID-19 epicentre of South East Asia.

It is difficult for those of us not in the Philippines to fully comprehend how COVID-19 impacts their communities. Where I live in Victoria, Australia, we’re now celebrating “double donut” days with zero cases and zero deaths from the virus.

But over in Cebu, our team sees a whole different scenario. Health care workers on the front lines have been desperately searching for masks amid a shortage. People can’t get hold of the face shields or sanitiser needed to stop the spread.

These are the communities our employees live and work in. So, while we ensure our staff have everything they need to protect themselves and their loved ones from the virus, we wanted to do more.

The most practical way we knew we could make an impact was by donating essential PPE items to the Cebu community. So that’s what we’ve done: over 180 bottles of alcohol sanitiser, 180 boxes of face shields and 1800 face masks to date.

Our team has done an incredible job of organising and delivering the items to the communities that need them – watch them in action in this Video.

The reality is, the pandemic might have slowed in Australia, but in the Philippines, as in other parts of the world, it’s still going strong.

And so long as that’s true, we’ll continue to look and listen for other ways that we can help.

If you have any ideas, please let me know. I’d love to hear them -
