Filippo Berio Consumers Receive Payout of 50 Cents Per Bottle to End Lawsuit: Certified consumers of Filippo Berio olive oil who said they were misled into buying olive oil 'Imported from Italy' will receive a payout of 50 cents per bottle, but the plaintiff's attorneys may ask the court for up to $1 million in fees.

How Cold Temperatures Can Help Olive Production: Very low temperatures and snow can have positive effects on olive trees by reducing the olive fruit fly population, containing fungal diseases and aerating the soil.

Learn about healthy eating and entertaining with fresh extra virgin olive oil and true balsamic vinegar. Find out what extra virgin olive oil really means, what to look for in olive oil, its uses and benefits. Taste authentic balsamic vinegar, imported from Modena, Italy and see numerous ways to add panache and goodness to gourmet, as well as, simple, everyday dishes. Sample from over 50 flavors, enjoy light refreshments and discover ways to pair oil and vinegar, to enhance recipes, both old and new. Health conscious and food-loving individuals alike will appreciate this instructional, tasty class.

Group Tastings and Private Events

Need a new and creative venue for your next social gathering? Dazzle your taste buds at a Private Tasting event at Saporito.

You and your guests will enjoy after-hours access where your senses will be taken on a world tour during your visit to our tasting room.

Private Events will guide you and your group through an EVOO tasting experience during which different intensity levels of EVOO will be sampled and discussed. Simple recipe ideas and suggested pairings with authentic balsamic vinegar are also shared.

Roasted Brussel Sprouts

Brussel sprouts, trimmed, halved and tossed in EVOO with sea salt and pepper. Roasted at 350 for 35 minutes or 'til the edges are crispy. SO delicious and savory, she couldn't keep her hands off!

Sweet Potato Wedges with EVOO

Cut into wedges (we left the peel on) and place onto baking sheet. Season with cinnamon, cumin, cayenne, sea salt, and an optional tad of stevia. Drizzle with a fresh, robust Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Garlic, Rosemary or Blood Orange Olive Oil would be tasty) and bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes, longer for crunchier wedges. Serve and enjoy!

Amazing Man Candy

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of thick cut bacon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
  • Vanilla Balsamic Vinegar
  • Saporito OVS Tuscany Bread Dipping Seasoning

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line cookie sheet with foil.
  3. Place each piece of bacon flat on sheet.
  4. Drizzle Vanilla Balsamic Vinegar on each bacon piece.
  5. Sprinkle chopped pecans on top of bacon.
  6. Top bacon pieces with brown sugar (or alternative sweetener).
  7. Finish with Saporito OVS Tuscany Bread Dipping Seasoning on each piece.
  8. Bake 15-20 minutes (or check specific bacon package directions).

These are crazy-good, a tasty appetizer and party food!
