Sad News About a Colleague and Friend
Daniel Dean Armstrong Sr, passed away May 5, 2016 at his home in Victorville, CA.

Dan was born on August 15, 1955 in Salida, CO to Dixie E. and Dorrine C. Armstrong, from there they moved to Canon City CO until Dan was 4, at which time the family moved to Whittier, CA where he graduated Lowell High School in 1973.  Dan’s school years were spent as an active member of both band and orchestra along with being a top tennis player. His passion for band included the Kingsmen Drum and Bugle Corp, the Whittier Cavaliers and later in college as a member of the USC Marching Band. After college Dan took a job with Continental Hardware where he worked for several years. As the 80’s rolled into the 90’s Dan moved on to Comsense where he worked until his passing.
Dan spent the remainder of his life traveling and working. He met and touched the lives of thousands of people. All who met him were greeted with a smile and a hearty laugh and those who spent time with him soon learned his driving force and passion were his children.  Whenever he talked about his kids, it was always with joy, pride and admiration. Dan’s greatest gifts were his passion and optimism. He was never without a kind word in the right spot to bring a smile to your heart. If you needed a push, there were always words of encouragement to support and guide you forward.  He loved with all he had and worked twice as hard. His smile, his laugh, his heart and his passion will be missed by all those who knew him.
We’d like to say this obituary is a joke, but like Dan always said “you can’t make this shit up”.  We will all miss our friend, brother, best buddy, father, and son but in the end as it always is, “it is what it is”.

Our recommended best practice for configuring closed period journal posting is to restrict this ability to a special login that is only used for that purpose.  View our tutorial video Restricting Journal Posting to a Closed Period for guidance on how to set this up in your system.
