Every spring, naturalists, photographers, and nature-lovers flock to Pine Mountain to immerse themselves in one of the region's most prolific wildflower habitats. In mid-April, the James E. Bickford State Nature Preserve on the campus of Pine Mountain Settlement School is in full bloom with over 100 species of wildflowers across the forest, including several species of trillium, showy orchids, dwarf crested iris, and more!

To celebrate this colorful time of year, Pine Mountain Settlement School is hosting its annual Wildflower Weekend April 20-22. During this program, folks of all ages will participate in guided hikes along our forested trails, eat farm-fresh meals, and enjoy the beauty and relaxation of this environment.

Cost is $225 for an adult and $125 for children ages 6-12. There is no charge for children ages 5 years and under.

Lodging is provided on Friday and Saturday nights. Visitors may stay in dormitory or cottage-style housing. Bathrooms are shared. Single rooms available upon request.

Meals are provided from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch. Homegrown vegetables are served as much as possible. Vegetarians options are available with advance notice.

Wildflower Weekend Registration
from 125.00

It's been awhile since I put out an e-newsletter.  Just recovering from cat scratch Infection.  Feeling much better now and thanks to all my facebook friends who sent me well wishes.

We did have a small group of members show up at Mike Lining's last month for our annual winter get together.  Think everyone had a good time there.  I'm thinking about having another luncheon at Rough River State Resort Park in early April if anybody is interested.  The park is about a hour and a half away from Louisville.  If interested, send me an email at kygeology@gmail.com so I can make arrangements for reservations.  Also, give me a few dates in April that will work  for you.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
......please keep us informed about any address or email changes.

Thanks
