Isn't this rain refreshing? At the Ranch we've been getting slow, steady rain this last week and it looks like there is more coming. The grass is greening up and the ducks and geese especially are enjoying the wetness. 

This is feed ordering week. If you'd love to purchase some non GMO and soy free feed for your livestock you may order in the following ways: text or email by this Wednesday at midnight. 314-578-1351 or Your first order must be prepaid, all subsequent orders may be paid at pick up.

Feed pick up will be the following week, September 19th. Delivery usually happens on Wednesday afternoon. Those that order will get a notification that the feed has been delivered. Remember, if you pick up your feed within 24 hours of delivery at the Ranch, you will receive a dollar off per bag! Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted.

Try a favorite family recipe 

Beef Stroganoff
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups sliced or chopped mushrooms
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped or minced onion
  • 1 cup dry noodle
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • grated Swiss, provolone, or cheese of your choice
  • Spice mix: 
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 3/4 tsp granulated garlic
  • 1 tsp granulated onion
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sugar
Saute the mushrooms in butter or olive oil until they give up most of their juice. Add ground beef and brown until cooked through. Add noodles, spice mix, milk, and beef broth. Bring to aa boil. Then reduce to a simmer, stirring occasionally for about 20 minutes or until the noodles are soft. If necessary, add more broth. Stir in sour cream, check seasonings and adding more if desired. Top with grated cheese. Easily doubled or tripled.
Yield: 4-6 servings
