Word of blessing from the Pastor:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings in the name of our Lord. I thank and praise our Lord for his grace and blessings. I am very glad to reach out to you and share few words through this newsletter.
The Lord says “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”- Jeremiah 33:3
A believer in Christ can have spiritual growth only through PRAYER. Many of us had a wonderful prayer time during the lent days house prayer meetings in knowing about HOW TO PRAY.
I would like to briefly share few ways to strengthen our prayer time and life with Lord. This in fact will help many who are in the early stages of not knowing to spend meaningful time with God in prayer.
We can dedicate time praying for each of the points as represented in the fingers.
Even if we spend minimum of 2 minutes for each of these prayer points, we can very well have a 10 minutes of prayer time.
As our prayer life strengthens, we can start spending more time for each of these points (5 mins, 10 mins and so on).
How to Pray:
1) Prayer of Praise and Worship: (Isaiah 6:3) - THUMB FINGER
When we praise and worship we show our love and devotion to our Lord.
2) Prayer of ThanksGiving: (Psalms 116:12,13) - POINTER FINGER
We are indeed bound to be thankful for the abundant blessings he has showered upon us. As we read in the above verse what shall we give him back for all the mercies he has shown towards us.
3) Prayer for Confession of Our Sins: (Psalms 51:2,10) - MIDDLE FINGER
Each of us are looking for peace and comfort in our life, however we must realize the greatest comfort comes in the form of asking forgiveness for our sins. Let’s turn to Jesus and confess our sins and he will be our greatest comforter.
4) Prayer for Others: (I Samuel 12:23) - RING FINGER
The best gift anyone can give to another is to pray for him or her. Praying for another person not only helps that person find God in the midst of trouble, but also helps us recognize the blessings that God gives us daily.
5) Prayer for Ourselves: (I Chronicles 4:10) - PINKY FINGER
This should be the least priority for our Lord is always faithful to his promises for us and will grant us with what is instore for us.
I hope these simple pointers will help you get the most out of your prayer time.
God Bless you all!
