Hi Everyone,

Its hard to believe we have already arrived at the Winter edition of our newsletter!  This is our fourth edition of What's New and we would love to know what you think of the format and content.  Please feel free to drop a line with your comments any time.  We want to ensure we are providing easily accessible, relevant updates to you, our stakeholders.

In this edition, you will find accreditation award updates, information about our newest policy revisions and a few reminders about upcoming deadlines.  Wondering about how to implement the new formatting requirements for your next Progress Report or Self Study Report?  Check out the video answer below.

The following key documents have been approved or revised.  Please read through this information in order to be fully informed about all new and revised policies. 
ACC-03 Accreditation Decisions (2012 Standards)
This policy has been revised to include the updated Operational Principles from the Vision 2016-2018 document, and the updated Core Evaluative Criteria (revision to Criteria 3.4 regarding clinical placement hours ). Click on the policy name above to view this revised document.
ACC-05 Confidentiality
This policy has been revised to include reference to ACC-06 Electronic Storage of Confidential Data. It also now specifically describes the requirement for all PRT members to complete FORM-04 Confidentiality Agreement – PRT, and all JAC members to complete FORM-05 Confidentiality Agreement – JAC.  Click on the policy name above to view this revised document.
ACC- 06 Electronic Storage of Confidential Data
This policy has been revised to include updated requirements for the storage of confidential information, security requirements for documents being transmitted by email and to reference the requirement to complete FORM-06 Confirmation of Document Disposal – PRT and FORM-06 Confirmation of Document Disposal – JAC.  Click on the policy name above to view this revised document.

Each year, education programs affiliated with the OTA & PTA EAP are required to complete and submit an Annual Report.  Your annual feedback is essential to our work, and therefore completion of this survey is a mandatory part of the accreditation process. While the OTA & PTA EAP will be collating the results from all programs and reporting them in aggregate form, your specific information will remain anonymous.  

In December, each Program Coordinator will receive a survey link via email.  Please be sure to submit your completed survey by February 28, 2017.  If you encounter difficulties, glitches, or have comments about the survey, please contact

Beginning in January 2017, OTA's who are members of their national associations will be eligible for membership with the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).  As WFOT members, OTA's will be able to participate in and promote the work of occupational therapy internationally.  Click below to read the letter from WFOT.

The OTA & PTA EAP will close for the holidays on Friday, December 23rd and will re-open on Monday, January 9, 2017.  Happy Holidays!
