eNews Update
June 2, 2021
The leadership, your church council, is excited to announce the reopening of our indoor worship at our current location of 1735 Main Street on Sunday, July 4th.  For now, we will continue with one service. The service will be held at 9am each Sunday.  Additional details will be shared following the Council Meeting on June 21st.  This will give the leadership of Spirit of Joy time to incorporate any CDC guidelines and State of California suggestions for our worship together indoors.  In the meantime, our congregation will continue to meet on the church property each week for outdoor worship at 9am.  Please understand that we will now be continuing our live stream every week at Spirit of Joy, even when we have reentered our worship center.
We are excited to announce that the Pacifica Synod has given Spirit of Joy a technology grant of $5000 to be matched by the congregation.  We are able to utilize the grant up to the amount we match.  Let's plan on donations reaching $5000 from Spirit of Joy in the coming weeks.  Please mark your check technology grant!  The funds will be used to upgrade computers, sound system for worship, microphones, cameras, and capacity for live streaming every week.  Thank you in advance for your contributions.
We hope to see on the land for worship throughout the month of June.
Blessings to you in our Lord's name,
 Pastor Dan

Please consider helping get our church home ready for a return to worship on July 4th.  We will have a day of cleaning and repairs on Saturday, June 12th from 9 AM until 3 PM.  Tasks will include a deep clean of all areas, washing windows, touch-up of paint, and some other repairs as time and number of volunteers allow.

Hello Church Family,
Throughout the month of May, Spirit of Joy will be collecting children/youth Christian books.  Please bring any new or like-new books that you would like to donate.  In June we will host a Christian Book Drive-Through and hope to distribute as many books as we can to the children in our congregation and maybe all of Ramona!  Any Christian book appropriate for ages infants through 14 are welcome.  Thank you so much, and hopefully we can reach a lot of children with a gift of a book, and invite them to worship with us!  If you have any questions please speak with Jessica Parker or Jennifer Emerick.
Please donate books by:
  1. Dropping them in the collections box each week at our outdoor service.
  2. Dropping them in the collections box at the church office during office hours.
  3. Calling Christy Serra at 760-917-1023 to arrange a time for pick up at your house.
Hello Again Church Family,
Thank you to everyone who donated youth books for our Christian Book Drive.  We have over 200 books to pass out!  Now we need your help in spreading the word about the book distribution.  This will take place at our Main Street location (1735 Main St.) on Saturday June 19th from 9 till 11 am.  We will be passing out books, book marks, and beach balls to all children age 14 and under who drive through our parking lot during this time.  Please let everyone in town know and invite family and friends to come.

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Men's Weekly Breakfast continues every Thursday, 8am, at Denny's in Ramona.

We have no specific agenda except to get to know other Christian men in an informal gathering.

We hope you can join us.

We are grateful for all ministries at Spirit of Joy meeting in the back room of our church facility.  Each of our groups can meet currently with a maximum of 8 persons.  Everyone is asked to wear a mask.  Cleaning is requested after each group meets.  We are moving closer to opening up our facility to more opportunities.  Thank you for your dedication to the protocols that have been in place for Spirit of Joy gatherings.
Check out ways you can support Spirit of Joy's ministry!
Safety Procedure for Worship
We encourage your arrival between 8-8:45am for set up.  Everyone is encouraged to wear masks on entry and departure on the church property.  Bring your own chairs, pop-ups, umbrellas, and bottled water.  To insure your safety, we will have a table with prepackaged communion (1st and 3rd Sunday each month) and bulletins (also a digital bulletin is available on your electronic devices).  Please practice social distancing of at least 6ft of separation per family unit.  Trash cans are available to dispose of all trash upon leaving.  If for any reason you are not feeling well, at higher risk, or uncomfortable with attending, we invite you to enjoy the service live-streamed.  If you prefer staying in your car, there will be a designated area for you to do so.
