Christmas at First Baptist Gulfport

We're in the middle of this season of Advent where we see how God in Christ gives us PEACE, JOY, HOPE, and LOVE!

We have been celebrating the arrival of our Savior through meditating on Scripture (reading daily Psalms and Christmas passages), through worship and being led by our choir in song each week, and through serving & giving to others through Angel Tree, Operation Christmas Child, caroling, and so much more.

Save the Dates for some of the primary ways that we are observing the season of Advent outside of our regular Sunday morning LifeGroups & worship gatherings!

December 10: Adult (55+) Christmas Banquet > Doors will open at 11am this Saturday for an 11:30am banquet!
December 13: City of Light Prayer Gathering | Westminster Presbyterian Church, 6pm
December 24: Candlelight Christmas Eve Service | 4:30pm
December 25: Christmas Morning Service* | 10:30am (*No age-graded ministries)
January 1: New Year's Day Service* | 10:30am (*No age-graded ministries)

We are excited to celebrate Christmas together on
CHRISTMAS EVE at 4:30pm & on CHRISTMAS DAY at 10:30am!

Though each worship service will share many aspects, we look forward to gathering together both Christmas Eve & Christmas Morning to observe and celebrate the life-changing arrival of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Adult (55+) Christmas Banquet
Tickets: $10 per person, available at the door
Join us this Saturday for a time of fellowship over a Christmas banquet meal, featuring musical entertainment and a raffle contest for attendees.

Join us THIS SATURDAY, December 10th for a Christmas Banquet with entertainment and a raffle for ALL adults 55+!

City of Light
Monthly Prayer Gathering

Through our City of Light gatherings, we pray that the Spirit would begin to move in our city so that Gulfport would become a City of Light! We hope that you'll join us this coming Tuesday night, December 13th at Westminster Presbyterian Church for our monthly City of Light prayer gathering in Ward 4.

Family Dedication
Family Dedication Sunday is coming up on January 23rd! We believe children are a gift from God, and Family Dedication is the parents' opportunity to publicly profess that they desire to partner with God and their church family as they raise up their child in the ways of Christ.

Up-Ended DiscipleNow Weekend
January 13-15

The theme for our event is “Upended: How God Upends Our Expectations.” Left to ourselves, we develop our own rules for navigating our lives. Teenagers especially are constantly reinventing themselves to maintain their image. Help them learn that God's plan for them to thrive is an UP•ENDED version of the Lord's plan!

Sunday Night Programs Resume
Don’t miss this — Sunday night programs are BACK starting this Sunday at 5pm! We’ve got something for all ages. AWANA for children (bit.ly/FBG_AWANA22-Clubbers), Student Sunday Nights for 7th-12th graders, and several LifeGroups & short-term equipping groups (full listing at bit.ly/FBG_groups)!

Hope Adult Learning
Training begins January 24th

Hope Adult Learning is a Christ-centered literacy ministry that provides literacy and language skills to adults. They provide teachers for both adults who struggle with basic reading and adults who need to learn English. They are looking for people to join them in ministering to our neighbors in a unique way.
