"A Place of Possibilities"
February is the Month of Love

Valentine Treasures
Valentine treasures are people who
have often crossed your mind,
family, friends and others, too,
who in your life have shined
the warmth of love or a spark of light
that makes you remember them;
no matter how long since you've actually met,
each one is a luminous gem,
who gleams and glows in your memory,
bringing special pleasures,
and that's why this Valentine comes to you:
You're one of those sparkling treasures!

Dear loyal supporters of Who Gives a SCRAP,

We ask for your continued support for our small business.  January was a rough month for our Fort Collins shop. Sales were down and unfortunately the expenses remain the same.  We really need your help! Your support helps to sustain Who Gives a SCRAP going forward, making it a place to create and bring our community together.  Stop by today and show us your love!

Why we need your help?
*Did you know that 78 cents of every dollar we bring in goes solely to pay our rent?
*That we are 95% volunteer-powered?
*That your financial support will help us keep our doors open, pay a living wage to our staff and to hire additional staff to serve you better?
How can you help?  Spend an extra $5, become a member, volunteer, donate items, tell your friends about us, share our Facebook posts, and attend classes and events.  Whatever your reasons, we are grateful to have supporters like you who care about our work.

YOUR FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS NEEDED AND APPRECIATED!

Who Gives a SCRAP now offers a Teacher Membership

All teachers are invited to join our Educators Program and you can do that by signing up at our stores. Our cashiers will walk you through the process. It only takes a minute!  Bring in a teacher ID, union card, school letterhead or other verification documents to sign up. Let the savings begin!

The membership entitles you to 25% off of all store purchases for your classroom every day, for a whole year.

In addition, teachers can select some free materials from our bulk zone.  Check in at the front desk and we will give you a bag to put your items in, then bring them to the register.

The Bulk Zone contains some of the following items:
Here you will find educational, office and classroom materials donated by other teachers and patrons.  Here are just a few of the items that are often available:
Children’s Books
Flashcards
Posters and classroom decorations
Office supplies
In addition to traditional teaching materials, all sizes of containers, metal tins, CDs, jewel cases, boxes, crayons, pencils, binders, notebooks, hanging file folders, rulers, trophies, wood scraps and more.

Individual Membership: $25
Group Membership: (Groups of 5 or more at a school) $10 each

**Buy it as a gift for your favorite teacher, school, PTA/PTO, or favorite organization.

Where does the money go? With 100% of our annual budget coming from income generated through store sales and fee-for-service programming, a portion of the membership revenue will go to Art SWAP for the underwriting of programs to the general public for arts and educational programming in our local communities which educate people of the benefits of reusing materials rather than it going to the landfill.

Thank you for helping us with our continued mission of trash diversion!

Who Gives a SCRAP collects clean and reusable art, craft, and office supplies. Please follow these steps when making a donation.  We would appreciate that you do not leave unattended items at our front door.  It's not only a violation of our lease but illegal.  **Note:  Many items have creative reuse potential but it is simply a matter of space and demand whether or not we will be able to accept them and sometimes we are unable to accept some items due to legal or liability risks, safety or hazardous and universal waste concerns, recycling and disposal fees.  If it looks like trash then it is trash and should be disposed of properly or by recycling it.
Holiday specific items will only be accepted 2- 3 months prior to that holiday.  Thank you.
