Dear <<First Name>>,
I am delighted to announce the launch of University of the People in Arabic: the first university of its kind for refugees and other Arabic-speaking students!
For refugees sufficiently proficient in English, UoPeople’s low-cost, high-quality, online education has proven to be a life-changing opportunity, easily accessed anytime, anywhere. To date, UoPeople has enrolled over 3,000 refugees, 2,000 of whom are Syrian; more than any other university in the world.
However, this represents only a fraction of those in the Middle East in need. In the last two years alone, 125,000 Arabic-speaking students, primarily refugees, started an application to UoPeople, but could not continue due to the language barrier. To meet this incredible demand, University of the People in Arabic will open its doors to students in September 2020, offering an associate degree in Business Administration in Arabic.
UoPeople aims to provide refugee students with a truly transformative opportunity to integrate further into the global community. Throughout their courses, students will have the option to simultaneously immerse themselves in an English-language curriculum built for their specific needs. After completing this curriculum, interested students will be able to continue on and complete their bachelor’s degree with UoPeople in English.
To maximize our impact with these ambitious students who deserve every opportunity to get ahead, UoPeople seeks to provide scholarships for 1,000 refugee students to fulfill their dream of higher education. Should you be in a position to contribute to this crucial scholarship fund and be part of our milestone crusade for educational access, please do so here.

I am deeply grateful to all of you who have supported the University and development of this important program. I am so excited to see all that we will achieve together in the next academic year and beyond!
