From the CRC Board of Directors:
It is with profound regret that the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes Board of Directors has been notified that Marilee Murphy will be stepping down as Executive Director in the Spring of 2021. Marilee has served as the Executive Director since June 2019. In her time heading up CRC she has shepherded us through some difficult challenges, not the least of which has been our need to quickly adapt to the limitations thrust upon us by the COVID-19 pandemic. Under her leadership we have made additional and significant strides in our quest for financial stability and long term sustainability. She managed two large internal projects of transitioning to a new robust database as well as a complete overhaul of our website. The completion of both of these projects has helped our staff and clients be more efficient and provide the best resources and information. She has increased our efforts in engaging with community partners. She has overseen new programming centered on wellness and survivorship.

As we have gotten to know Marilee we have been impressed with her ability to juggle multiple tasks seamlessly. She is a problem solver at her core – but more than that, she cares. She cares about the clients we serve, she cares about our dedicated staff and volunteers, and she cares about our wonderful community. Though Marilee will be departing for personal reasons, she will remain in the Ithaca area, and plans to stay connected to CRC in other ways. She will also serve as a strong support for the incoming new director. We know you will join us in wishing Marilee all the best in her future endeavors. We are grateful for her passionate and dedicated leadership. She will be missed by us all.

#Volunteer Spotlight
Marcie Kreydt
joined the CRC volunteer team after working as the Southern Tier Regional Director for Camp Good Days and Special Times for ten years.  This organization provides programs for children, adults and families that are impacted by cancer.  When Camp GDST closed its regional office, Marcie joined forces with CRC, taking on a new role as “Family Support Coordinator" to continue support for families facing cancer.  She also facilitates the CRC Caregiver's Group on the first Tuesday of every month.  When Marcie is not busy serving her community, you can find her at home or traveling with her husband, who is a cancer survivor, and her 3 children.
