Just wanted you to know that
all of us at CRC are thinking of you.

If you need anything, please let us know.
Email is the best way to reach us.

Are you navigating COVID-19 precautions while going through a cancer experience?

CRC continues to be here for our community. We are continuing support groups online and providing 1-on-1 support by phone & email. We also have volunteers and peer cancer survivors available to connect with you. For info or to access any of these services click here, email us at info@crcfl.net or leave a message at 607-277-0960.

While we have postponed all in-person events through the end of April, we look forward to rescheduling them once COVID-19 has been mitigated and it is safe to gather again. In the meantime, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, & Instagram and we’d love it if you would invite friends and family to “like” us, too! We will be posting virtual events and information regularly & would love to stay connected!

And finally, we thank you for your ongoing support. Here are some ways you can help CRC and our community during these challenging times:

  • Refer friends and family with cancer to us for help with financial advocacy, emotional support, and information about cancer. Share our email: info@crcfl.net

  • Let us know if someone needs extra support during this time and our volunteers can send an e-card or make a phone call to provide support.

  • Give to our Go Fund Me campaign and share the link with others. Your donation of any amount helps us continue providing free services to you, your friends, and family, and anyone who may be facing cancer.

  • Do your normal shopping at AmazonSmile and they will donate a % to CRC.

  • When giving through United Way, choose CRC as the designated recipient.

  • Choose CRC during this year’s “Giving is Gorges” campaign on May 20th.

  • Plan to attend our future events! One Funny Ithaca, the annual CRC dinner at the Texas Roadhouse, and of course, our Walkathon on October 3rd!

As we continue to serve our community, we deeply appreciate your support.

All of us need support now more than ever

Exploring Therapeutic Experiences with the Ithaca Equestrian Center
CRC staff visited the Ithaca Equestrian Center (IEC), a boarding stable and riding instruction center located in the Ithaca area. Thanks to the generosity of owners Russ and Paula Wedemeyer, they and CRC will be initiating a pilot project to explore therapeutic experiences for cancer survivors at their gorgeous farm. Watch for information on an IEC open house to learn more about this exciting opportunity once COVID-19 settles!  Learn more about IEC.
Breast Cancer Guide
CRC is pleased to introduce our newly revised Breast Cancer Guide (downloadable), a particularly helpful resource for those navigating a new breast cancer diagnosis. Email info@crcfl.net if you would like a copy mailed to you.

Thank you to CRC Board members, Hannah Potts, NP and Dr. Robert Weiss, Cornell cancer researcher, for their valuable input on the guide, and Rocio Zepp, Client Services Assistant, for the beautiful cover art.

Important notice from C2C Cornell University Transportation Services
"It is with regret that we must suspend the Campus-to-Campus coach service as of 3/25, until further notice. Info at c2cbus.com."
Volunteer Spotlight: Rebecca McTavish is a newly appointed receptionist at CRC. She recently moved to Ithaca from Australia while her husband completes his PhD program at Cornell. She completed a Bachelor of Music specializing in the Classical Trombone mid 2016, and has years of experience in administration and customer service. It is easy to say that she has a ‘stable’ obsession with popcorn, and loves to contribute to the community in any way she can. She has found the staff and volunteers of this non-profit organization very dedicated and welcoming, and will regularly be in the office Wednesday mornings. Click here to see more spotlights!
Wishing a very Happy Birthday to our fabulous volunteer, Patti Meyers!

Our amazing community:

Thank you Beth Bement for donating non-medical cloth face masks for the CRC community! Email info@crcfl.net if you need a mask.
Thank you Agnes & Meloney McMurry for delivering 45+ boxes of Girl Scout Cookies from Ithaca Girl Scout Troop 60333! We look forward to sharing them!
Board member, Jason Hungerford represented CRC as part of a panel of cancer survivors speaking to a class of students from the Cornell Institute for Healthy Futures. The class is great as they merge concepts of the hospitality industry with the medical profession and architectural design and business. They talked about their personal cancer stories as well as the importance of the space design in how it benefits their treatment and recovery and overall wellness. And yes, he's wearing his latest new shirt from Stitch Fix!
We had a code-red emergency when our beloved popcorn popper stopped working. Huge thanks to Randy and Ron from Reliable Care for coming to the rescue... just in time for our volunteer meeting. Some things just can't wait!
Happy Birthday, Monica! Thank you for raising over $400 for CRC.
It's not to late to donate in her honor!
