What is your fondest Vanguard memory?

In 2000, we were one of several corps staying and rehearsing at a school. We were given a few extra hours of sleep after a long trip and because of our late start, we had the worst field to practice on. The grass was knee high which made marching a little challenging to say the least. We overcame the exhaustion and the knee high grass that day and had one of the most incredible rehearsals of the year. The other corps ended their rehearsals early and came to watch our run through. The look on their faces as we performed with so much intensity and determination on that terrible field will always be a crystal clear memory. As we drove away we all noticed that the field was completely flat except one small patch in the middle of the field.
