TRUST Tidbit

Ah, July! Its a month of family vacations, BBQ's and, my favorite, Christmas in July.

Please don't ask me why this is in July, five months out, but it is, and I love it.  For the Trust, the holidays mean AUCTION, so Christmas in July means time to start thinking about the great items that YOU can donate.  Sports tickets?  jewelry?  services?  We would love the support.  And if you are ready to make a commitment, let's lock it in!

The Trust is also still in need of a mentor for one of our scholarship winners.  The commitment is minimal, maybe once a month, the impact significant.

To donate auction items and/or to volunteer as a mentor, email info@wiittrust.org.

The Summer issue covering all things Section 232 was released last month!

WIIT and Meridian International Center Co-Hosted June 21st Event Celebrating ITC/FTC
WIIT partnered with Meridian International Center to host a wide-ranging discussion with Commissioner Meredith Broadbent, International Trade Commission; and Randolph Tritell, Director of the Office of International Affairs at the Federal Trade Commission. The discussion was a detailed exploration of both the ITC and FTC, and their respective roles in the trade policy agenda.

Commissioner Broadbent discussed a number of recent ITC actions including 232 reviews, and particularly in-depth analysis on digital trade policy designed to advice and advance TH Administration’s negotiating agenda. Director Tritell covered the FTC’s role, particularly in ensuring fair competition and a wide range of consumer protection actions globally.

The audience discussion covered recent cases, as well as expectations for progress on trade especially USMCA and other agreements going forward.

I want to inspire a girl to see someone doubt her and just not care."
