2019 Holiday Reception & Silent Auction

Well, we did it!  This is the second year in a row that your amazing generosity has raised over $10,000 for the Trust in one night - thank you!  The Singapore Embassy was the perfect back-drop for our Holidays in the Tropics theme, complete with Singapore Slings and festive photo opportunity.  We are especially grateful for the many people who made the night such a success, including our volunteers, donors and bidders.

On Friday, December 6th, WIIT was happy to partake in a panel discussion with Irish Minister for European Affairs Helen McEntee, Irish Secretary General of the Department of Business, Enterprise and Innovation Dr Orlaigh Quinn, and the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Ireland Emer Rocke.   The Irish diplomats spoke over a light breakfast on Ireland's important role in the EU in the post-Brexit world and on the future of U.S.-Irish trade relations. The three female diplomats, among the highest ranking in Ireland's international trade portfolio, also discussed Ireland's policy of promotion of women, the important role of immigrants in the workforce, and the booming tech industry.  WIIT's Europe section co-hosted the event with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and DC GALS.
