IMBA set to become an official member of Assocamerestero in one year

Between November 10th and 13th the World Convention of the Italian Chambers of Commerce Abroad was held in Verona, Italy, organized by Assocamerestero, in collaboration with Unioncamere and Camera di Commercio di Verona.

It was a great opportunity to expand IMBA network and share best practices and knowledge  with the Italian Chambers operating all over the world, especially in the Asia region.

On the occasion, IMBA has been accepted as a probationary member by Assocamerestero. The probatory period will last one year and it is the first stepping stone in the direction of becoming a recognized Italian Chamber of Commerce abroad. 

We would like to thank Assocamerestero, its Board of Directors and in particular its President, Gian Domenico Auricchio, for acknowledging and rewarding our efforts aimed at making IMBA the point of reference in Malaysia for the Italian business community.

Malaysia ranked 15th in the World for Ease of Doing Business

According to the World Bank's Doing Business 2019 report, Malaysia has regained its place in the top 20 economies in the world for ease of doing business, jumping at 15th spot from 24th last year.

YB Datuk Darell Leiking, Minister of MITI, said Malaysia's ranked 15th thanks to the government numerous regulatory reforms and improvements.

Malaysian Governments launches Industry4WRD,the National Policy for Industry 4.0

In October, MITI published Indsutry4WRD, the National Policy for Industry 4.0. The policy outlines a framework of strategies that will transform the manufacturing industry of the Country over the next decade.

The framework, called F.I.R.S.T. (Funding, Infrastructure, Regulations, Skills & Talent, Technology), will increase manufacturing contribution to the economy, improve productivity and innovation and increase the number of skilled workers in the country through:

- Funding and outcome-based incentives
- Enabling ecosystem and efficient digital Infrastructure
- Regulatory Framework and Industry Adoption
- Upskilling existing and producing future talent
- Access to smart technology and standards
