Malaysia-Italy Business Partnership Conference to be held in Milan on November 9th, 2018

On November 9th, the Malaysia-Italy Partnership: Business Opportunities in Malaysia as the Gateway to Asean Conference will take place at the Excelsior Hotel Gallia, in Milan.

The event is organized by the Malaysian Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) in collaboration with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) and MATRADE.

The objective of the conference is to update Italian companies and organizations on the current economic situation in Malaysia and to highlight commercial and investment opportunities in Malaysia as a gateway to ASEAN.

IMBA is proud to be one of the supporting organizations of the event, which we believe will improve the business relations between our two countries. IMBA is the point of reference for all the Italian companies interested in doing business in Malaysia, which is increasigly becoming the destination of choice for investments in the region.

27th World Convention of Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad taking place in Verona on November 10-13, 2018


The 27th World Convention of Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad, organized by Assocamerestero (the Association of Italian Chambers of Commerce abroad) will be held in Verona from November 10th to November 13th, 2018.

While the first two days will be dedicated to Assocamerestero internal discussions, on November 12th and November 13th the Convention will be open to public.

On November 12th there will be a seminar which will highlight the business opportunities available in the countries where the Italian Chambers of Commerce network operates, while November 13th will be dedicated to B2B sessions between companies and the representatives of the chambers.

Save the Date: IMBA Gala Dinner featuring Michelin starred Italian Chef Daniele Repetti - 29 November 2018, Marini's on 57


On the occasion of the Extraordinary Italian Taste Week, organized by the Embassy of Italy in Kuala Lumpur and the Italian Trade Agency, the Michelin starred Chef Daniele Repetti, Head Chef of Nido Del Picchio, will be coming to Kuala Lumpur for a week of Italian food celebration, from November 24th to November 29th.

The closing event will be our annual year-end Gala Dinner, which will take place at  Marini's on 57, Malaysia's most iconic restaurant and rooftop bar, on November 29th, where the Chef will prepare one of his special degustation menus for our Members and Friends.

Malaysia online grocery segment to double its maret share in the next 3 years
According to Tetra Pak Index 2018, the online grocery segment in the country is expected to grow significantly and double its market share within the next three years. Tetra Pak Malaysia, Singapore and Philippines MD John Jose said the widespread use of smartphones has contributed to the growth in online channel for the food category.

Meanwhile, consumer market research company Kantar Worldpanel Malaysia’s business group director Cynthia Su said the country is among the fastest-growing markets in the fast-moving consumer goods’ (FMCG) online channel.

“Currently, the FMCG online channel in Malaysia is dominated by baby and beauty products. However, the food category has been charting a notable upward trend with one out of every three online shopper purchasing food items. This rise is expected to continue,” she said.

According to Tetra Pak, a report revealed that Malaysia posted an 88% growth rate in the online channel for FMCG sales, having captured 1.5% of the FMCG sales last year.

RSM Malaysia to host RSM Tax Seminar - Budget 2019 on 15 November 2019

We are pleased to announce that our Corporate Member, RSM Malaysia is organizing the RSM Tax Seminar-2019 Budget on 15 November 2018 (Thursday) at Connexion Conference & Event Centre @ Nexus, Bangsar South City.

The 2019 Malaysian Budget Proposals will be announced and tabled in Parliament on 2nd November 2018 by the Minister of Finance, YB Lim Guan Eng. Join them at this year’s RSM Tax Seminar which will highlight the latest tax and SST developments and provide participants with a practical understanding of the key tax changes presented in the 2019 Budget Proposals.

Regular fee for the seminar is RM550 per pax.
IMBA members who register and pay before 30 October 2018 get a special fee of RM480 per pax.
