President's Message

Will you meet me at the mansion?

In 2015, the WBC created a new event, Meet Me At The Mansion (MMATM). The objective of this event is to showcase businesses, encourage networking and have fun. If you’ve been a reader of my messages, this event is the culmination of everything I’ve said so far this year. In January, I wrote about the value of being yourself. MMATM creates opportunities to meet new people in a non-threatening way that allows you to “be yourself”. Later, in April, I asked the question “Why are (or aren’t) you a WBC member?” Trust me, if you’re a member and go to MMATM, you will have your answer. If you AREN’T a member and go to MMATM, you will be blown away by the energy of the business women in the room.

Our summer intern has gone back to college, but if you are hosting a female fall student as an intern, I encourage you to bring her to MMATM to see how networking works.

Last month I expressed my desire to volunteer. My FAVORITE committee to be on is MMATM. The small group of members that pull this off are amazing “Do-ers”…they are people who do what they say they’re going to do. That’s what makes MMATM successful. A shout out to Gina MacDonald who heads the committee, and fellow members Diana Mattingly, Megan Armor, Laurie Kerkering and Heather Goodno…I’m so excited for September 22nd!

You really, truly CANNOT miss this event that people have been talking about for a solid year…register today by clicking here. Maximize your exposure by considering a sponsorship :)

So, will you meet me at the mansion?

 AVE by Korman Communities

How long have you worked with AVE by Korman Communities?

I have been with AVE by Korman Comminutes since November, 2015, making a career change from 23 years in the hotel industry. While enjoying this new opportunity by learning about corporate housing/extended stay living, by selling furnished suites to both corporate clients and anyone in some type of transition via, buying a new home, downsizing , renovation, or maybe visiting family and friends for an extended period of time.

What is your current role with AVE and what does a typical day entail?

I am the Area Sales Manager of Chester County, representing both AVE Malvern and AVE Downingtown.  My main responsibility is corporate sales, uncovering local project team business in the area, helping to discover new companies in the market and building brand awareness.  I create and maintain relationships in the community and actively promote our unparalleled lifestyle. I enjoy meeting prospective clients to determine their housing needs and offer them a carefree living solution.

Can you give me some brief information on the company and anything you would like the WBC to know about your company?

AVE is a flexible-stay rental community that offers a carefree lifestyle. Our Malvern and Downingtown locations feature 1- and 2-bedroom fully furnished suites with flexible lease terms .  Additionally, we offer unfurnished apartments at competitive rates as well.  Both furnished guests and unfurnished residents enjoy our high-touch services and amenities. Our slogan is "Live Better at AVE!" and we deliver on that promise.

What did you do prior to this?

Prior to living the “AVE” by Korman Comminutes dream I had spent the past 23 years in the hotel industry working for companies such as Hilton and Sheraton as General Manager, Director of Sales, Director of Front Office Operations, and other sales and hotel operation positions.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Of course being a mom to my young adult son is priority and grand mom to our wonderful American Pit Blue Terrier,  Shredder Turnbaugh, I love to travel the world having been to Dubai, Italy, Greece, Spain, China, New Zealand, Fuji, and most recently Puerto Rico.  With a bucket list goal of visiting all the continents by a historical decade birthday my new goal is South America, China, and Antarctica.

How long have you been with the WBC/WRN?

A long time.  I  have built wonderful business and personal relationships including the purchase of my first home independently with a WBC members help!   I have had the honor of being a past board member as well and enriching the WBC experience.
