It’s A Wrap!
As the year comes to a close, it’s natural to reflect on the highlights and lowlights of the year. As I thought about my role as President of the Women’s Business Connection, I can definitely think of some highlights…increased membership, Meet Me At The Mansion and our new Community Partner (Chester County Fund For Women & Girls). Because I always try to put a positive spin on the “negatives”, I’ll say the the lowlights have a silver lining. I had a personal goal of 30 new members, and we only got 29. Our board lost two devoted members (Megan Armor and Nina Malone), but are replaced with with two energized ladies, Suzanne Young and Jennifer Walker.
Reflecting personally, I lost my father-in-law, but found out that I’m having another niece! My business goals were met and surpassed. My friendships were strengthened. My network expanded. My passion rejuvenated.
On Saturday, I’m sitting down to read “These Five Words Are Mine” by Jen Croneberger in order to motivate myself to put forth a serious effort in pursing my passion for writing. On Sunday, I’m holing up in a hotel for 4 days to focus SOLELY on writing. Maybe submit to Chicken Soup For The Soul (link here if you’ve ever thought about it!). Maybe write some business articles. Maybe I’ll spew out a book! I’m not sure where it’s going to lead me, but I’m excited at the prospect of having 4 uninterrupted days to be with myself and concentrate on writing.
Whatever your goals may be, look around you for inspiration. Avoid the negative people in your life and focus on the positive.
If you want to help me achieve one of MY 2017 goals, please bring a friend to our next event and introduce them to the powerful network of the Women’s Business Connection!
Happy New Year!
