It's one of our Four Core Values. But what does that mean, and more specifically how are we quality driven?
The reason why it is a core value is easy. It is the only way to achieve high customer satisfaction - our #1 goal. The decision to upgrade our QMS to AS9100 came from our commitment to have a solid foundation in Quality. This month, we thought we’d take the opportunity to share a peak into our Quality Management System for a sampling of how we meet our objectives.
Plating lines undergo a daily check list and scheduled maintenance so we are confident the baths are ready to go at the start of each day. The QC room is equipped with Fisher and CMI x-ray for measuring metal thickness, micrometers and microscopes. Our lab analysis consists of chemical titrations as well as Atomic Absorption. We use SPC (Statistical Process Control) and follow a regular analysis schedule to ensure our baths are maintained properly. Looking at the data on a chart lets us see trends and catch changes before they become problems.
One of our key indicators for our Quality Objectives, is a comparison of the number of good and bad parts processed here at AFI. While the ultimate goal is 100% good parts we set a limit of 97% to tell us that changes are needed.
For the 6 month period ending July 2016 we processed 10,804 parts and credited 34.
We credited .31% of the number of parts processed.
These are just a few of the steps we take in achieving a high Quality standard but we can’t do it without good, honest and knowledgeable workers with a great number of years of plating expertise, development, and helping of customers with unique processes. Along with using gloves, providing slip sheets, doing 1st piece inspections, and most importantly communicating with our customers, we provide the best quality plated products.
