On April 19/20th, the Uraía Platform organizes its 2016 workshop in Nicosia, Cyprus, on:
“The impact of SMART technologies in the municipal budget:
tax recovery and energy savings for better public services”
This year’s workshop will gather 40 representatives from local governments, city associations, international organizations, research centers and private sector from all around the world. Local governments and countries to be represented include: Santander (Spain), Kathmandu (Nepal), Ate (Peru), Levahim (Israel), Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Marrakech (Morocco), Raipur (India), Douala (Cameroon), Kampala (Uganda), Guarulhos (Brazil), Cartago (Costa Rica), Montevideo (Uruguay), Colombia, Rwanda, Bahrain. Participants will explore how technological innovation can help cities increase revenue or decrease expenses. Main topics to be addressed include the use of SMART technology to improve: tax recovery, e-government, transparency, services management, energy efficiency, among others.
