Climate Action Summit - New York: Morocco presents its Subnational Climate Finance Expertise Program (PEFCLI), conducted jointly with FMDV

During the Second High Level Local and Regional Governments’ Forum on the 2030 Agenda, held in New York on September 24th, Mohammed Boudra, President of the Moroccan Association of Municipal Council Presidents (AMPCC), presented the PEFCLI program and committed to share the experience capitalized in localizing climate finance with other African national local and regional government associations. [+ info]

City Finance Lab: FMDV co-organized a workshop on participatory climate budget in Molina, Spain
The city of Molina organized a workshop on "Participatory Climate Budget” on 29th October 2019 with the participation of several Spanish cities. FMDV co-organized this workshop as part of the support of the City Finance Lab (CFL) and through the participation of Pf Yves Cabannes, FMDV Administrator. [+ info]

Presentation of the International Municipal Development Fund – IMIF

Jointly initiated by UNCDF, UCLG and FMDV, the IMIF has been introduced during the second meeting of the Global Coalition of Municipal Finance organized in Malaga in October 3rd. The Fund intends to provide support to local and regional governments from developing and emerging countries to access to investments and debts with the ultimate objectives to consolidate and extend local financial markets and to support the localization of SDGs.More information will be announced during the UCLG Congress in November in Durban. [+ info]

Match Making: Cooperation between Mexico City and France is strengthened on Sustainable Cities
FMDV facilitated the organization of the Franco-Mexican Seminar on the Sustainable City, which constituted a meeting and dialogue place between Mexico City (CDMX)’s Chief of Government, Ms Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the French Embassy in Mexico and 25 French companies engaged on sustainable cities lead under a MEDEF delegation. It was agreed to strengthen cooperation on environment (renewable energy and water and solid waste management), sustainable mobility and tourism.

Creation of the Global Alliance for Subnational Development Banks for climate Action 
 In order to contribute to the necessity to localize climate finance for sustainable local development, the Government of Cameroun together with the African Network of SDBs (RIAFCO) and FMDV launched the African Chapter of the Global Alliance on September 24th during the Climate Action Summit at the United Nations Head Quarter, in New York, USA. [+ info]

Climate Finance: FMDV co-chairing the Project Preparation Action Group of CCFLA
As a continuation of its effort to initiate, support, coordinate and develop the Project Preparation Working Group of the CCFLA, FMDV, as the only city network focusing on finance, has been designated together with C40 Finance Facility and GIZ Felicity as co-chairs of the PP Action Group. [+ info]
 
Smart Cities: the Uraia is organizing a series of workshops on municipal management in Mashhad from 2nd to 5th December 2019
The Uraia platform - jointly animated by FMDV and UN Habitat – together with METROPOLIS and the Metropolitan Training Institute are organizing a series of workshops on municipal management and urban regeneration by Smart Solutions. These workshops will be held from 2 to 5 December 2019 in Mashhad, and will allow participants to discuss current challenges and trends in the use of technological innovations and their impact on the municipal budget. [+ info]

European Week of Regions and Cities: FMDV partner of a session on Sustainable Urban Development cooperation

FMDV facilitated a session organized by DEVCO C5 of the European Commission on the roles of cities and  in Urban Development. [+ info]
Affordable Housing: FMDV launches a Start Up Fund on Community Land Trusts as part of the SHICC Program on Affordable Housing
Within the Interreg project on affordable housing (SHICC) program developed by FMDV and a consortium of partners, a Start Up Fund to support local communities to develop innovative Collaborative Housing schemes in European Cities has been created. Calls for proposals were recently launched and new call for proposals will be announced shortly, stay tuned! [+ info]
