Upcoming Events - Time to get involved!

Monday, August 5 at 6:30 pm at Legion Field - Mayor Ronnie Johnston and Covington City Council are holding an informational meeting about the release of Ethylene Oxide in our community at Legion Field behind the YMCA in Covington.  Bring a lawn chair as seating might run out.  The mayor and council have been speaking to GA EPD and the EPA about the issue as well as Governor Kemp's office, Representative Dave Belton, Senator Brian Strickland, the CDC, and the Health Department.  Some of these folks will be on hand to talk about the issue and answer questions.  One of the issues to be addressed will be a plan for independent testing for ethylene oxide.

Monday, August 12 at 7:00 pm at Oxford Science Building (Room 115) - Sustainable Newton Board Meeting.  All are welcome to learn more about the organization and how to get involved.

Wednesday, August 14 at 6:00 pm at Turner Lake Complex - The Newton County department heads will be available to citizens on for the County’s first ever Table Talk – a department head question-and-answer town hall.
