"Santa Barbara--A walk in the Park"  There are so many places to explore and refresh in our beautiful Santa Barbara.  From the beaches to the parks, to the special wonders of the Botanical Gardens and Lotusland.  I love painting these cloisters of natural beauty and contentment."

Gail Lucas graduated from UCLA in 1960 with Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and illustration.
Carol North Dixon - Pink Moment
 11" x 21" -  Collage on mat board
The number 3 is seen as a lucky and powerful number.  It represents the principles that underlie life such as mind, body, spirit; birth, life, death; beginning, middle, end; past, present, and future.
is a magical number associated with synchronicity, luck, and perfection.  Seven is also seen as a mystical number connected to spiritual awakening, introspection, and development of wisdom.  It is connected with the pursuit of Truth and the desire for a deeper understanding of life.
The 7 triptychs in this show are reflections of the world in and around Santa Barbara and were inspired by the Ocean Park Series of Richard Diebenkorn.
Nancy Hull - Eye to Eye
12" x 12" - Pastel on pastel board
My primary interest is in interpreting the landscape, in pastel paintings inspired both by favorite local scenes and by those captured by photographs and sketches during travel. Over the past two years, I’ve been fortunate to travel in five countries of southern and eastern Africa, and have recently begun painting the wildlife seen on those adventures.

Michael Heffner - Aiyana
9" x 9" - Ink on paper
Julianne Martin - Mysterious Place
I have found the intricate and dynamic nature of the ancient process of encaustic painting to be fascinating. The layering and fluidity of wax can create a complex and intriguing look.  Since there are ancient encaustic paintings now thousands of years old, it is reassuring that one’s own work is extremely archival.  My encaustic paintings are of imaginative landscapes, seascapes, and abstract florals.
Carol Roullard - Waves of Grain
24" x 36" - Micro-crystal Photography printed on Aluminum
Over 10 years ago, I witnessed the magical world of crystals through the microscope. Stunning, emotional shapes and colors radiated up through the apparatus’ eyepiece. I needed to capture their incredible beauty and essence. I grow the crystals, photograph them and print their images for others to enjoy.
I also expanded my artistic endeavors to include fluid acrylics. Both mediums have intense color forming organic shapes merging, diverging and flowing across the artwork.
Darlene Roker - Summer Glads
16" x 24" - Photograph on Aluminum
This is a show of images without traditional color. Instead, I've used the 256 digital shades from black to white to create a statement.
Contrast was paramount. The play of white against black, shades of gray making the counterpoint, the use of negative space, my images are how I see life when I think in gray scale.
