Forward to a Friend
Re-opening...Slowly but Surely

Dear Friends of Gallery 113,

Unfortunately, starting in March, the Covid-19 pandemic and state health regulations required us to close until very recently. We are happy to announce that Gallery 113 is now open again! Our artists (did you know that we're a cooperative gallery - all artist volunteers?!) are being trained to safely host the gallery and follow all CDC and California state health measures to provide a safe environment for artists and our valued patrons.

Gallery hours are very limited at the present time as we continue to prepare our artists to safely host. We highly recommend you call first to make sure we're open at (805) 965-6611. If you're strolling through town, swing by anyway and check out our window display. We're located at 1114 State Street in the beautiful La Arcada Court.  Please wear a mask and practice safe distancing when entering the gallery.
Scroll down to see a selection of artists that would have been showing during the time we were closed, as well as artists for the upcoming October show.  Our last mailer, sent in March, presented artists that had their work remain up during the closure. You can find their information in our March mailer or visit our website at: for more art and information about our gallery and artists.

We look forward to seeing you again! Please share/forward our mailer to family and friends.

If you should have any questions please don't hesitate to email us at

Best regards,
Gallery 113

Show Title: Channel Music
The work in this show was inspired by the artistry of Wassily Kandinsky.  I have always been intrigued by his use of bright colours on a dark background, but even more by the way in which he likened painting to composing music.  He said “Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the hammers, the soul is the piano with many strings.”  In these pieces I hope to invoke the “music” of the beautiful Santa Barbara channel which we “hear” with our eyes every day.

Show Title: A Few Steps Over the Edge:
Images from the Right Side of My Brain
Photography has come a long way from the days of Mathew Brady and Ansel Adams. With our cell phones and mini travel cameras, we can all capture our environment. What I seek to do is magnify my environmental impact, giving my viewer the feeling of actually being there with me and sharing the view, if even for just a while

Show Title: Delicate Balance
During our long and often repetitive history, climate change, endangered species, disputed and depopulated territories, immigration, and proliferation of plastic are some of the complicated and interrelated issues that have confounded our societies, ecologies, political functions, and collective moral consciences. This small group of paintings addresses these challenges that we are still confronting and attempting to solve.

Show Title: Works on Paper
Working close to home.
Working outside more than inside.
Working on paper - forgiving.
Working through thoughts.
Working through conditions.
Working without pressure.
Working to overcome the unknown.
