Thankful

Dear Friends of Gallery 113,

Despite the challenges that this year has presented, we have so much to be thankful for. Here at Gallery 113 we are very thankful for the support of our patrons. We are especially grateful to be open again, for all the artists that have braved the uncertainty and submitted work and volunteered to host our gallery, and for the gallery board of directors, manager, and all the behind the scenes volunteers who have worked so hard to keep our gallery open!

We invite you to visit our gallery this month and see the latest works from Artist of the Month, Isaure de la Presle, as well as new art from our November featured artists and group artists. Scroll down for more information.

Gallery hours (normally Monday - Saturday 11am-5pm and Sunday 1-5pm) are improving, but we still recommend that you call first to make sure we're open at (805) 965-6611. We're located at 1114 State Street in the beautiful La Arcada Court.  Please wear a mask and practice safe distancing when entering the gallery.

For more information about our gallery and artists visit our website at www.gallery113sb.com.

We look forward to seeing you! Please share/forward our mailer to family and friends. If you should have any questions please don't hesitate to email us at gallery113@frontier.com.

Best regards,
Gallery 113
Artist of the Month - November

Isaure de la Presle

Born in Paris, Isaure moved to New York when she was nine. She returned to Paris after high school and earned a graphic design diploma. As she began her design career she realized that her true dream was to be a mother and an artist. She had 4 children within 7 years, and being a mother was more fulfilling than she could imagine. A friend who had successfully combined motherhood with a professional art career inspired her to do the same as well as return to school for a fine arts degree. She and her family moved to Ohio shortly after she earned her degree, and she became a well-established artist there.  She and her family are world travelers, which has included volunteering in humanitarian work. She currently lives in Santa Barbara. Isaure creates fine art through a creative process that’s part meditative and part intuitive. Visit her website for her full biography and samples of the beautiful art she creates.

Show Title: Mary Magdalene and Other Saints
I am intrigued and inspired by St. Mary Magdalene as she was the Apostle to the Apostles.  She is also being recognized as an Apostle for our times.  Other saints are secular people who also inspire me in how they live or lived their lives such as RBG, Harriet Tubman, Greta Thunberg.

Show Title:  After the Storm
“After the Storm” features the painting “Nova Scotia Harbor” which was inspired from a painting trip last fall to the Maritimes of Canada.
This show also includes SB architectural favorites, representational still-lifes and vibrant abstract paintings. It is Sue's hope that both locals and visitors of Santa Barbara take the opportunity to visit the gallery and take a respite from the times.  The many artists in the gallery offer a variety of unique visions and interpretations which will perhaps leave the viewer a bit more hopeful and maybe inspired to create in their own way.  Art, like nature, has the possibility to bring freshness to any moment.
Sue has been a member of the Santa Barbara Art Association since 1985.
