Clinton and Trump Tied in New Arizona Poll

(Phoenix, AZ) – A recent poll commissioned by Data Orbital for the upcoming general election shows that the Democrat nominee for President, Hillary Clinton and Republican nominee, Donald Trump, statistically tied in Arizona. The newest iteration of a series of track polling by the consulting firm also shows Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson quickly losing ground.

Data Orbital, a Phoenix based consulting firm, announced today the results of a recent survey conducted on likely general election voters in Arizona. The poll showed Hillary Clinton ahead of Donald Trump by 1%, with 6% of voters undecided, and only 5% pledged to Libertarian Gary Johnson.

The survey's head to head results are below:

 Trump  42%
 Clinton   43%
 Johnson  5%
 Undecided  6%

The poll also showed both sides of the marijuana legalization fight, Prop 205, well below 50% as early ballots go out. Younger age groups favor pro-legalization, while we see older generations more staunchly against the legislation.

 For  44%
 Against   45%
 Undecided  5%

George Khalaf, consultant and pollster, issued the following statement: “Early voting begins in Arizona this week, and our track polling shows that many races will come down to the age and party of voters that turnout. It is not surprising to see Trumps numbers down after 7 days straight of negative media coverage and Republican leaders rescinding their support of the nominee. Libertarian Gary Johnson does not seem to have picked up those lost Trump votes however as he falls below the steady 9-10% he was at in weeks prior. Prop 205 continues to ride generational and party lines and will come down to ballot turnout."

This live poll of 550 likely general election voters in Arizona has a margin of error at plus or minus 4.12 percent, with a 95 percent confidence interval. Respondents were weighted on a number of different demographic figures based off previous voter turnout and responses were 50/50 cell phones and landlines. Demographic data from the poll can be found here.
