Dear members and supporters,
The past weeks the construction of the plant has continued as planned with provision of water and electricity supply as well as the preparation for the cement foundation. I think you will be glad to know that the PolyStyreneLoop plant will be standing firmly on EPS foundation formwork by our member Hordijk.
Next to the physical work that has been done, we have also been working hard on a number of important administrative items. In March we submitted an amendment request to the EU LIFE subsidy on a number of items. We are very happy to share with you that our request has been granted on all accounts! In short this entails, a change of Coordinating Beneficiary from BEWiSynbra to PolyStyreneLoop Coöperatief UA, the project extension by 2 years to 1 July 2023, the waiver of the first demand guarantee and the shift of activities between beneficiaries. The formal approval was signed and submitted on June 2nd 2020. The approval of the amendment request is of great importance for the release of the bank loans.
Additionally, our Mid Term Report for LIFE is due end of this month. We have been preparing the report this past weeks and hope to submit it shortly. The Mid Term Report is an important milestone as with its approval the second tranche of the subsidy is released.
We will now start the preparations for our General Assembly on 2 July for our members and supporters. In the coming days an invitation will be shared with you.

Join the loop: European Association for ETICS
The European Association for External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS), is formed by 12 national ETICS associations, 6 European components’ associations and 11 supporting company members doing business all across Europe. The main objectives are to promote the benefits of ETICS, to support safe and durable use, and to contribute to a reliable regulatory framework.
Circular economy, resource efficiency and sustainable construction are high on the political agenda today – as the European Green Deal demonstrates. However, the EAE already started a decade ago dealing with the end of life of ETICS. Though there was no urgent need due to the proven long-term experience, members felt responsible to deliver answers on how to remove and recycle systems in the end. The first research project with FIW Munich and Fraunhofer IBP delivered important results. PolyStyreneLoop is a consequent next step to further develop processes and techniques to large scale and across borders.
With the experience being collected in this joint project, EAE will elaborate solutions for ETICS with all insulation products and finishes. This demonstrates that our sector takes responsibility, from the cradle though the use phase to the next loop. www.ea-etics.com
