Friends and Colleagues,

As we close out the first quarter of 2021, our portfolio companies continue to hit major milestones and drive market awareness with new product launches, high-profile additions to Boards of Directors and Advisory Committees, award wins, and more. Several members of the Anzu Partners family have also been working hard with the announcement of Anzu Special Acquisition Corp I. You can find more details and photos on the virtual Closing Bell ringing ceremony that took place earlier this month!

Here’s a quick preview of the highlights from the past several weeks:

  • Liquid Instruments launched a groundbreaking new product, Moku:Go, to help science and engineering students push past the traditional boundaries of teaching labs and classrooms.
  • Niron Magnetics and 6K expanded their Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards with high-profile leaders across government, technology and industry.
  • InterVenn was recognized as the 2021 Most Innovative Company for Diagnostics and Beyond by Buzz of BIO.

Liquid Instruments Introduces Moku:Go – The Robust Lab Education Solution for the Next Generation of Scientists and Engineers

Liquid Instruments, an innovator in precision software-defined instrumentation, launched Moku:Go, a complete, portable platform designed to bring the engineering lab anywhere and usher in a new era of scientific and engineering education at universities around the world. Within higher education, current in-person lab instrumentation is stationary, expensive, hardware-limited and fixed at the time of purchase. Existing portable solutions lack the intuitive software interfaces that current and future generations of students have come to expect.
Colonel Brian J. Neff, Electrical & Computer Engineering Department Head at the United States Air Force Academy, says, “Our students were thrilled when we first added Moku:Lab to our classroom two years ago, and after seeing the new capabilities of Moku:Go, I’m even more excited. It is clear that it will help take students’ educational experience into the modern era.”

Former US Congressman Joe Kennedy III Advocates for a Greener Future as he Joins 6K’s Board of Directors

6K, a rising star in the production of sustainable advanced materials, announced that former Massachusetts Congressman Joe Kennedy III has joined its Board of Directors. As a representative in the United States, Congress Kennedy has been a long-time supporter of climate action, clean energy development, and local manufacturing. 6K’s technology promises to revolutionize how advanced materials are produced, offering a tangible representation of the clean energy technology Kennedy pushed for during his tenure as a US Congressman, and can now drive forward as a member of 6K’s Board.

Kennedy states, “Today, there are virtually zero battery materials being produced in the United States costing the country good jobs and tremendous economic opportunity. 6K has huge potential to change this dynamic, enabling us to bring cost-effective and environmentally-friendly battery material production to US soil.”

Niron Magnetics Expands its Board of Directors and Advisor Network Ahead of Commercialization Efforts for Rare-Earth Free Magnets

Niron Magnetics, the company manufacturing the world’s first rare-earth free, high performance magnets, announced the appointment of two new members to its Board of Directors, along with three executive advisors to support the firm’s rapid expansion.

These high-profile, experienced leaders have joined Niron to help the company commercialize its Clean Earth Magnet™ technology, as demand for magnets and rare earth alternatives soar. The growth in electric vehicle (EV) motor and wind turbine production are key demand drivers for magnets. Such applications are typically reliant solely on rare earth permanent magnets, which carry supply risks and are environmentally damaging. Niron’s technology offers a more cost-efficient and sustainable option to produce permanent magnets without rare earth materials and enable the long-term growth of a sustainable economy.

The new members of the Niron Board of Directors include:
Steve Bullock, former Governor of Montana and former chairman of the National Governors Association (NGA)

Larry Burns, Ph.Dformer Corporate Vice President of Research & Development and Strategic Planning at GM
The new executive advisors include:
  • Vice Admiral (Ret.) David Buss, retired Vice Admiral of the United States Navy and former Commander, Naval Air Forces
Dr. Ga-Lane Chen, Ph.D., CTO and Chief Investment Officer of Foxconn

Rick Wagoner, former President and CEO of General Motors
