Dear Connecticut Economic Development Association (CEDAS) Members,

On behalf of the CEDAS organization, happy New Year! I wish you the best launch to 2023 in both personal and professional endeavors. As Connecticut’s leading non-profit and independent economic organization, CEDAS is 100% reliant upon your engagement, participation, and support.

As I assume the CEDAS Presidency for 2023 in a couple days, I reflect upon my experience with this amazing organization. The blend of professionals working towards a shared economic development mission is especially noticeable year over year. CEDAS represents professionals who genuinely care about Connecticut’s future growth and development. As a non-governmental organization, CEDAS is uniquely positioned to address education, communication, networking, advocacy, and partnerships.

CEDAS’s outgoing President, Kristen Gorski, has served two years at the helm. Her determination and leadership elevated CEDAS to its stature. I personally thank her for CEDAS’ advancement. I also commend all of my predecessors and professionals that served to make CEDAS strong. Additionally, it is important to recognize the ongoing partnership with the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM). CEDAS is a volunteer based professional organization without staff, so our partnership with CCM is critical to our ongoing achievements and effectiveness.

As I stated at the 2022 Annual Meeting in Fairfield, CEDAS represents individuals who collectively serve as a catalyst for positive change.  Professionals such as us wake every day striving to make a difference in this world. That is what motivates and drives us. My goal is to continue advancing this unique organization and to facilitate its growth for Connecticut’s benefit. I request your assistance in introducing CEDAS to others, growing our membership, and participating in our mission. Know that we will launch a new CEDAS website by spring, will launch the next “Best Practices” round, will role out more programming and education, and will work to focus on membership.

So, as we advance into 2023, let me say “thank you.” I look forward to ongoing communication and collaboration. Please feel free to contact me.

I wish you a very happy, peaceful and successful New Year.

Best regards,

Paige Bronk
Incoming CEDAS President
Economic and Community Development Manager
Town of Groton
