Wealden Business Group to stage fraud, scams and cybercrime workshop

One of the biggest threats to businesses of all sizes is falling victim to cybercrime. And it is a problem that is growing by the day.
Wealden Business Group (WBG) is organising a 'Fraud, Scams and Cybercrime' workshop, including presentations from Kent police and IT consultancy JJ Systems.
The workshop, which will be open to all local businesses, will be held at The Little Silver Country Hotel, Tenterden on Wednesday, 22nd March.
Only this week, it has been reported that a huge surge in cybercrime helped the total value of fraud that reached UK courts last year rise above the £1billion mark for the first time since 2011 amid concerns a slowdown in the economy will put businesses and individuals at more risk.

Some £124million was stolen by hackers and criminals via the internet last year - a 1,266 per cent jump compared to 2015, helping to lift total fraud 55 per cent higher to £1.1billion, according to the latest KPMG Fraud Barometer.
