"Wait, wait wait, I have a question!...
...So you’re saying God had NO beginning??” Angie stares at me incredulously.
“That’s right Angie, the Bible says that He exists from everlasting to everlasting. You and I have a starting point, but He doesn’t, in fact, HE created time. He can’t be measured by it."
“He made TIME?! I just can’t, Beka, I’m just overwhelmed right now,” Angie crawls under the table. “Who IS this God??” she shakes her head with wide eyes, “I can’t understand Him.”
I laugh and think to myself, me neither. I should probably be under that table, too. Also: this is why I love working with pre-teens...
Danna raises her hand, “You mean, if Adam and Eve didn’t eat the fruit, we’d still be in the Garden of Eden?”
“That’s right, Danna!”
The kids form a collective gasp. “WE COULD HAVE LIVED THERE???” “WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!?” Brian groans. Angie shoots up and stomps her foot “This is an OUTRAGE!” Danna begins banging her head on the table. “WHY did they have to go and listen to Satan??” “Why do we EVER disobey God?? Just look at what happens!!”
…and this is what I live for: when they start connecting God’s Word to their lives, when His story comes alive to them.
Over Easter break, we flew out to Spokane to visit Moody Aviation and look into jobs and housing.
Here is Cody with one of the instructors in front of the Kodiak (an airplane designed specifically for missionary aviation that is currently being used in Papua New Guinea).
During our tour, she showed us a bookcase that held a copy of the Bible in each language their pilots had been a part of reaching. It was on the way to the classrooms so that students and staff would be reminded why they are here and what they are working toward.
We also got to visit the most beautiful river ever, looked at 3 housing options (still praying!) and were pleasantly surprised at the Hospital where Beka's hoping to work. (Click Here
to read the whole Hospital Story).
for praying, giving, and caring for us as we prepare for the big step ahead of us!
