He Remains Unfailing
puny strength, patient God
"But God had mercy on me so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst of sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in Him and receive eternal life."
-1 Timothy 1:16
After months of praying and holding our breath, another brain MRI is in the books for Benaiah, and it looks like slowly, very slowly, his ventricles are shrinking. No surgery at this point. It is so, so rare that a case like his can be managed with medication alone. We begged the Lord to intervene and He heard our prayers. I should be dancing for joy. I'm relieved. But it feels like the kind of relief at the end of long, tense movie where the suspense would not let up for a second and you're exhausted from the adrenaline when it's over. I feel absolutely drained.
He's okay. He's going to be okay. I'm so glad he's going to be okay. I wonder if I will be...

Updates
Thank you so much for continuing to pray for Benaiah!
His follow-up MRI on June 29 was really encouraging! His spinal cord is normal (no tethered spinal cord!) and the ventricles in his brain were even a little bit smaller than they were two months ago.

He still has some genetic testing to see if there's a syndrome that's responsible for the abnormalities in his brain, and we'll do another MRI in 6 months to check if things are still going in a good direction. But for now, we get to keep treating with medicine instead of surgery. What a huge answer to prayer!

Beka's Electrophysiology Study (the test to determine if she needs an implanted defibrillator) is scheduled for July 15. Please pray for wisdom as the cardiologist decides what would be the best treatment plan for her heart.

Cody was able to begin serving here at the Homes of Ethnos360. He'll be working primarily in the garage, helping to repair equipment needed for the maintenance of the base.

Please pray that we will be a blessing to the team here. Pray for the missionaries we serve who are working, even from Sanford, Florida, to translate the Word of God and to equip the church leaders overseas with all that they need to teach and train indigenous believers. Pray that the Lord will use this time before we return to PNG to strengthen our relationship with Him and with each other.

Also, please keep praying for the aviation team in Papua New Guinea, that our co-workers will make great progress in their flight training and that the Lord will strengthen them to handle the workload and still get the rest and family time they need.
Pray that God will soften the hearts of the people groups in PNG who are hearing His word in their own language, that He will give them clear understanding, and that they will respond to Him.

Thank you so much for your prayers, encouragement, and support!
