Seed labelling

A small, hard working team made short work of labelling approximately 600 packets of seed. Despite the rapid work rate, there was still plenty of frivolity and fun.

Autumn plant fair

On balance, a successful Autumn Fair; 900 packets of seeds distributed, but plant material donations were down and no raffle this year. The weather was kind and all shared the usual jovial atmosphere.

It was great to catch up with people visiting our stall, both old and new. It is also fantastic to welcome some new members to our group who signed up at the plant fair. We hope you enjoy being part of the BSS and can come along to some of our gatherings.

As always, an event such as this can-not go ahead without a huge amount of work by volunteers. I'm sure I'll miss some people, but the list of volunteers includes Jeff for overseeing all of the work getting our seeds together (he does a lot of the work as well). The people who donated seed, cutting and seedlings. The people who attended the seed packing and labelling sessions. Gillian for hosting those sessions and coordinating the plant fair. Finally, the volunteers who set up,  worked on and packed up the plant fair stall: Gillian, Michele, Nick, John, Deborah, Tim, Leela, Gabi, Chris, Jeff, Fiona and Don.

Garden visit to Susan's in Urunga

SATURDAY April 13, 11.00pm - 2:00pm

Remember to seek out the sign-in sheet on arrival.
Please bring a snack plate to contribute to our quick shared brunch

Over the last 3 years, Susan has been steadily building up from scratch, in the middle of Urunga. The good soil and the mild climate have worked with her, to produce a rewarding mix of ornamental natives and a productive vegie patch. Bigger and better things are planned for the patch, but so far so good with this garden project.

If you have them:
Please bring seeds or cuttings to share.

Coming? please click here to RSVP, to obtain the address and so we know who’s attending. Please RSVP even if you already know how to get there.
