JOELEX RECEIVES FUNDING FROM AQUA FOR ALL TO FURTHER DEPLOY SANITATION FACILITIES IN UGANDA
Joelex, part of the Toilet Board Coalition's 2019 Accelerator Programme, has been building an urban-slum community sanitation centre model since 2017 and currently operates two sanitation centres in Kampala. In this next phase of growth, Joelex is looking to introduce modular facilities and technology to enrich user experience and improve business economics.
Aqua for All is providing funding and business advice for Joelex' expansion plans as part of its commitment to promote innovation, sustainability, and inclusiveness in water and sanitation.

JOELEX is a locally owned social enterprise that makes improved public water, sanitation and showering accessible and affordable for the urban poor in Kampala, Uganda through well-constructed and properly maintained pay-per-use public water, sanitation and showering facilities
Through a franchise operational model designed for scale JOELEX makes water& sanitation accessible, affordable for the urban poor in Kampala, Uganda by building, then providing franchisees (local leaders land lords, and local entrepreneurs) to operate smart-enabled, fully automated, modular, real-time technology monitored public sanitation facilities within urban slums, trading centres & cities.
The company has been operating over the last 2 and half years, with the designed franchise operational model designed for scale, JOELEX looks forward to scaling and reaching 3-4.5 million people within the next 2-4 years from now
