The new year has brought lots of new things here at The Bedford Chronicles HQ and we start 2017 with some fab, fun workshops during the Half-Term and Easter Holidays.

WW2  Bedford - Ordinary Heroes

Travel back in time with us as we experience Bedford during WW2. Meet an 'ordinary' family who thinks that they make no contribution to the outcome of the War but, in reality, their heroism helps to win the war for the allies.

Meet the bomb makers, the spies and the evacuees who all made history in the town of Bedford!

The Bluebell Club
A brand new school holiday club for children

The Bluebell Club is a new fun school holiday club which is based within the historic grounds of 
Moggerhanger Park, Park Road, Moggerhanger, Beds, MK44 3RW 

Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th February

There will be woodland or garden discovery walks and activities, arts, crafts and lots more. Open to children aged 5 years and over. Morning, Afternoon and All Day Sessions Available.

Normans In The Ent Shed 

The 'No Nonsense Normans'

Are invading The Ent Shed on Castle Road this half-term 

Friday 16th February starting 10.00 

We are delighted to be hosting a workshop in this super location.
Find out what life was really like for the Normans and discover how they ruled Bedford. Plus make your very own Norman shield or broach and solve a mystery as we play, 'Who stole the King's Crown'.

The Panacea Museum

Victorian Magic Lantern Show
Thursday 6th April starting 10.00 

Come with us on a journey back in time, a time before cinema and television and witness first-hand Victorian state of the art technology, an authentic Magic Lantern Show.

Learn about this Victorian craze for Magic Lanterns and watch as images seem to appear from nowhere.The show is interactive so be prepared to join in the fun!

Bedford Borough Libraries   

Half term is looking super in Bedford Borough Libraries with some awesome Lego activities lined up to celebrate the release of the Lego Batman Movie on 10th February. You can test your engineering skills at some Batman themed Lego Club sessions; join in with some crafty superhero fun, and come and listen to some Super Storytimes! Dressing up is encouraged…

Bedford Central Library will also be hosting the Weaving Narratives exhibition from 9th-11th February. This community arts project showcases textile art from local artists, inspired by the history collections in the Bedfordshire Archives and Records Service. Throughout 2016 artists created works based around Bedford locations, industries, people and stories, demonstrating incredible talent, imagination and beauty.
