INFOCUS 5: IDENTITY IN SUPPORT OF DEMOCRACY
Application of biometrics in electoral systems is a core area of focus for ID4Africa. This year we will deepen the exploration started in 2016 with an impressive lineup of experts. 
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SESSION:
  • The UNDP and the African Union Commission will present latest studies on the use of digital identity systems in support of electoral processes from across Africa. 
  • The Chairman of the electoral commission of Nigeria, the largest country in Africa, will present his commission's perspective on a controversial topic, namely biometric voter verification.
  • Three leading companies with long and deep experiences in this domain will provide the voice of the industry and will share lessons derived from recent elections in Tanzania, Nigeria, Togo, Uganda, among others.
