Dear Helen,

Election day is just a day away, and it’s an opportune time for a couple local startups to highlight their products. Election voting app startup Voatz is redefining how we vote by enabling citizens to vote in all kinds of elections or voting events via a smartphone. Currently, the app has been used in small elections, labor unions, universities and state political parties, but their ultimate goal is to be used in major elections. Voatz is demoing tonight at 6pm at Boston New Tech’s meetup. The largest tv broadcaster and leading local news provider, Sinclair Broadcast Group, is encouraging voters to submit videos of their polling place using Boston-based mobile video startup Burst's platform. The viewer-generated videos will be shared both on air and on local stations’ websites. You can help them cover the election by sending your election day photos/videos to burst.com/watchthevote!

Coming up this Thursday, join us at the Civic Tech Challenge Awards Reception as each team from last weekend’s hackathon presents their ideas to 250+ local innovators, event honoree Diane Hessan, and a judging panel of Greater Boston’s top civic leaders. This is the 3rd annual Civic Tech Challenge where top Greater Boston tech innovators worked with passionate middle school students for a day to create solutions for Greater Boston’s toughest problems.

There's a great mix of events happening this week, such as these pitch competitions: SheStarts and Babson’s WIN Lab's SheDemos, LearnLaunch's Pre-K-12 Pitch Competition, and the aforementioned Boston New Tech's Product Showcase and Civic Tech Challenge Awards Reception
. Scroll down to find more events, courses, and jobs! As always, you can find much more online at StartHub.org, Greater Boston's guide to the startup community.

Best,
