2019 Has Taken Off!

January 28, 2019

Blessings, dear friends!
We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season and New Year!  The past few months have been busy, in the best sense of the word.  We had conferences, meetings, preaching opportunities, kids' ministry fun and even some family time.  Here is a quick update:

In October and November we attended two conferences - one for all the first term missionaries in Europe, and the other for the Southeast area missionaries.  Both were wonderful times of worship, fellowship, training and connecting with colleagues.  During our area retreat, we also had the great privilege of having Abigail's dad, fellow missionary, Paul Gracza dedicate baby Jocelyn to the Lord. What a special time!

Regional Director Visiting

In November, our regional director, Paul Trementozzi came to Slovenia, as per invitation from the national leadership. He was asked to come speak at the semi-annual pastors' meeting, as well as at 2 of the local churches.  It was wonderful to feel loved, and supported by our leadership on both fronts.  Paul spoke on unity, cooperation and the importance of personal Sabbath.  Thanks to our Speed the Light vehicle, Dan was able to drive Paul to all of the meetings throughout Slovenia.  We are so thankful for our safe and reliable transportation - PenFlorida youth, we so appreciate you!

Bethany Global University Missions Trip

Our church in Ljubljana is a host site for Bethany Global University interns.  We currently have 6 students taking part in the training. Our pastor asked us to help them find some areas of ministry. Abigail's mom, fellow missionary Jocelyn Gracza has taught English at one of the Hungarian high schools in Budapest (actually, the school where Abigail and her brothers attended), and was able to have the interns go and facilitate conversational English lessons.  Dan even ended up substitute teaching for one of Abigail's former teachers!  We were so glad to be able to strengthen the relationship with this high school, as well as help the Bethany students fulfill some of their academic requirements.

Friends and Neighbors

We have loved getting to know our friends from church, as well as from Aidan's school.  God has blessed us with exceptional people, who we are blessed to live in fellowship with.  We spent Thanksgiving with a family from church, have had cookie decorating parties, baby showers and play dates.  At Christmas time, we once again baked cookies and delivered them to our neighbors.  Through this we've gotten to know our one neighbor and her dog "Žuža", another neighbor had cookies for us too, and we have a mommy-baby walk planned. We invited our landlady over as well, to give her cookies.  While she was visiting, she shared that her husband had been very ill. We asked if we could pray for him, and she said that we could.  We are thankful for the opportunity to share our faith with her in this way.  Please join us in praying for healing in his body!

Church Life

Abigail was very excited to be a part of the Christmas program for our church, Binkoštna Cerkev Center Ljubljana!  She sang in the choir, and led the kids' ministry bell choir, which debuted at our Christmas service.  It was a huge success, and everyone loved seeing their children perform something new, so well!

Young Adult Ministries

Dan continues to be a part of the country's leadership team for the Young Adult Ministries.  They are in the process of planning the Winter camp, and have had a number of worship nights. Dan has greatly enjoyed getting to know some of the pastors better - in fact, he and a pastor friend, Luka Fartek (the man in the second picture) will be attending a symposium in Spain next month, hosted by the Assemblies of God, about reaching secular people.  We are thrilled to be a part of the ministry towards the youth of Slovenia!

Through our work with the recording of the Slovene language version of the Puzzle, Abigail developed a mentoring relationship with one of the voice actors, Tarisa.  Tarisa has attended youth and young adult events at different churches for years, but never really made a personal decision for Christ.  After meeting for a few times, and reconnecting with some other influential Christians in her life, she made the decision to be water baptized.  She invited us to be a part of the day, and we rejoice with her in her statement of faith!

Family News

Thank you, to all of you, who have been praying for Aidan, and his residence permit situation! TODAY, on this day, we finally have his permit in hand! Praise, and honor be to God!  We are so thankful for the answered prayer, and for those of you who encouraged us along the way!  This has weighed on us for over a year, and we are thankful for the outcome!

Aidan continues to enjoy his vrtec/preschool to the fullest!  We are so thankful for his teachers and friends! He turns 5 next month, and has invited many of his school friends to his party - we are looking forward to getting to know them and their parents a little better!

Jocelyn is growing, and happy and healthy!  Aidan and she adore each other, and we are so thankful for her addition to our family!

Thank You

Najlepša hvala, thank you so much for your love and support!  We couldn't do any of these things, if it weren't for your prayers, encouragement and partnership! As always, we appreciate you more than you know!
