MEET THE TEAM: ANNA MADGE
In the second instalment of our Meet the Team, we catch up
with our long standing team member, Anna Madge, who heads up
The Esther Project.
Here's a round-up of our recent funding success and how it will be utilised:
Silver Lady Fund: £300 grant for a service user to purchase work clothes and fund admin costs for her new job, which was greatly appreciated and hugely encouraging to her.
Sussex Police Crime Commissioner: £10,000 to fund a new part time Esther Project outreach worker, enabling us to appoint Caroline Middleton as staff to head up our partnership/drop-in work.
Chalk Cliff: £4,954 for core costs and training.
Sussex Community Foundation Crisis Fund: £10,000 to fund a new part time Esther Project Outreach Worker, enabling us to bring our Masters Placement Intern, Beth Richardson, on staff.

SERVICE USER SOCIAL ENTERPRISE SCHEME
Social enterprises make a significant contribution to the community by generating local employment, training, and volunteering opportunities. Yada is taking innovative approaches to create a program for service users, who would like to learn new skills in a supportive and friendly environment. Using our existing volunteer program as a framework, we have created a tailored plan, based mainly on acquiring office experience. It is a ten-week fully supported program, with regular reviews and supervision. We are delighted to be able to provide an opportunity for service users to gain valuable office and computer skills, helping to equip them for the workplace.

YADA REBRAND – OUR NEW LOOK
We are immensely proud to announce that our new website and rebrand is live! After months of planning, the new website offers improved functionality, key service information, a whole host of awareness raising material and a fresh new logo, look and feel. Check it out here: yadauk.org
Our new logo comes out of the idea of life; to live; to grow; to flourish. The 3 elements of the logo represent Yada working alongside other agencies, with a common goal to see women free from sexual exploitation. The top leaf shape is also heart like, breaking out of, or emerging from something, being released.
We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Rachel Ireland, Pepperfish Design pepperfish.co.uk for her dedication and fantastic work.

THE ESTHER PROJECT UPDATE
We are very pleased to report that our Cafe Drop-ins are now back up and running. We will be delivering them fortnightly on a Tuesday morning in a Worthing town centre cafe, providing an opportunity for women to drop-in for a free hot drink and cake and to collect a free well-being pack. Our outreach workers are available to provide advocacy and support accessing other services, sexual health information and advice, safety planning and tips and support with reporting instances of crime.
