Principal's Message

Good Morning Sea Lion Families,

Although no single educational institution corners the market on effective instruction or instructional experiences, McGaugh is among the best. What really makes Mcgaugh so unique is our community's commitment to supporting everything we do. Your commitment to McGaugh allows our faculty and staff to exceed the baseline of professional standards for instructional effectiveness. McGaugh's teachers create educational environments that foster students' connectedness through commonly shared experiences like the Jog-A-Thon, the Imagination Machine - "one tiny shoe, Tra-La-La!", and the fantastic door decorations in support of teacher & staff appreciation week!

I'm looking forward to having a great week with you. Thank you for being amazing!

 Jog-a-thon Surpasses PTA's Wildest Expectations!

Thank you to all of the parents and McGaugh’s amazing community for participating in such an epic end of the year fundraiser with our 2nd annual jog a thon!  Not only did all of our Sea Lions move their bodies for 20 minutes, but they also raised $29,000 in the process for the PTA!  These funds will help fund future projects like 5th grade activities, special assemblies, PE/Sports equipment and so much more.  The PTA appreciates all of your hard work and contributions!  Over the next 2 weeks, your students will contacted if they earned opportunity raffle tickets and the special activities!

Jesters Needed!

We are so PROUD to say, the rejuvenated JESTER program is a HUGE hit this year and we have already donated over 90 books to the school library in honor of your child and their birthday, 1/2 birthday or just because it’s a fun memory moment. Because of the huge request for Jester visits we are looking for a few more volunteers to become new McGaugh Jesters.

If you like reading books to kids, or just like to have fun and want to help kids feel special we would love for you to become a part of our special program. There is no minimum commitment, and any support is appreciated and needed (thought after you do one book reading you probably will be hooked). Any Jester will tell you it is one of the most rewarding and joyful volunteer jobs around!

If this is a new program to you here is some information about how it works. Parents can pay a $25 fee to have a Jester visit their child’s classroom, often for a birthday or special occasion, and the Jester will read a book of their choice to the class. An inscription/dedication from the parent(s) is placed in the book and your child will receive a surprise little goodie from the jester!! Your student can also take the book home for a week or two to enjoy at home before bringing it back to the library. How fun that the book with the inscription will remain in the library for years and year to come and can be checked out again at any time! This program has really been instrumental to making our library the amazing library it is!
If you are interested in being a Jester or learning more please reach out to us by email at
A Jester visit truly is a memory your child will have forever and is a program you won’t find elsewhere. It is one of the many things that makes Mcgaugh so special.
Thank you for supporting our program that we all love and means so much to our school!
