Principal's Message

Dear Sea Lion Families,
Thank you for joining us for BTSN. It was great having you all on campus. Parents are children's first teachers, and we are honored to have the opportunity to partner with you on your child’s educational journey. It was a great night despite the technical issues that prevented us from broadcasting the general parent meeting. I'll be sure to review some of the information shared in the BTSN presentation at our first PTA general meeting.
We will hold McGaugh's PTA General Meeting on Thursday, September 2, 2021, in the Auditorium. School Site Council (SSC) is one of the topics to be discussed. We currently have two open seats on our SSC. We will hold candidate nominations and the election for the vacant seats electronically. Click here to submit names for candidate nominations.

Project SEEK!

I hope all your children came home exclaiming about their first visit to the computer lab, or art lab, or innovation lab, just like my kiddos did, last week.  My kindergartener was so excited to visit the computer lab, she told everyone she saw that day, including the grocery store cashier and a man walking by in front of our house.

It’s because of you generous donations and support of Project SEEK!

Last year, Project SEEK raised over $140,000 for the Art and Technology Programs at McGaugh. Your generous support funded three credentialed teachers for the Art lab, Innovation Lab and Media Center for the 2021-2022 school year.

Although we had a very successful virtual fundraiser last year, this school year, we will need as much support and participation as possible in our “back-to-normal” fundraising activities including Skate Night, Teacher Experiences at Carnival, and our largest fundraiser of each year, our annual gala, The Event. We are excited to be able to plan and host these fundraising activities again, but we’ll need your support to meet our goals to ensure the continuation of our Art and Technology Programs at McGaugh.

One of the easiest ways to support Project SEEK is by becoming a Sea Lion Sponsor and donating to our Fall Donation Drive (Download Flyer)  (Or snap the QR code below).  Grandparents and family members are always welcome to donate and get involved, as well.

We hope you can join us in our efforts to keep these amazing programs running. We are so grateful for your continued support of art and technology at McGaugh!

Project SEEK Presents! Meet McGaugh’s Enrichment Teachers and Learn About our Programs!

Please take a minute to “meet” the amazing Project SEEK funded teachers who make it all possible! Snap the QR Code below.

Those smiling faces need your help!  Project SEEK is McGaugh's non-profit organization that raises money to fund our art lab, innovation/STEM lab and media center.  We fund three teachers' salaries and all the supplies for these labs to enrich the education of every McGaugh student. Research shows that art, innovation and media education encourage problem solving, creativity, and a growth mindset in all subject areas.

Please consider volunteering for Project SEEK!

Project SEEK needs your expertise for the following roles:

Community Donations Chair for The Event-You will solicit donations from local businesses to be auctioned at our annual gala The Event, April 8, 2022. You will have access to past donors and can select a co-chair and other volunteers to help you.

The Event Chair- Perfect for anyone interested or experienced in event/party planning.  You will oversee the production of our annual gala, The Event, April 8, 2022.

After-School Assembly Chair-In this role, you will solicit organizations to perform a show in the fall and spring during parent conferences.  You will coordinate with the performers, make a flyer for distribution and collect payment (with help from Project SEEK officers).  You will need to be present during the performances.

If these roles seem like the perfect way for you to contribute to your child's art, innovation and media education, please contact me, Claudia Vecchio Wille at, 917-547-0035. Even if you're not sure, but you would like to help, please contact me or look for me around school. Thank you for your time and continued support!
