Principal's Message

Dear Sea Lion Families,

Thank you, thank you for an incredible first week of school. It was absolutely amazing to see new and familiar faces on campus, with huge smiles and positive energy. This positive energy continued throughout the entire day, on campus. The McGaugh staff is excited for the 2022-2023 school year.

McGaugh prides itself in years of work around Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is a framework for establishing and furthering McGaugh's practices that impact students' everyday social-emotional, academic, and behavioral outcomes. Moreover, PBIS helps us, as a school community, to continue to be a school where all Sea Lions are successful, with endless possibilities.

This week we held a school wide PBIS assembly and school tour discussing how students can be Responsible, Aware, and Honorable (R.A.H.) on campus.

Please look for signage around campus reminding Sea Lions of how to exhibit R.A.H. behaviors in each of the areas above.
One of the many areas includes arrival and dismissal. In addition to being on time, coming to school daily, and greeting fellow Sea Lions with a “Good morning!”, is student safety.
Please see a couple of safety reminders below on open gates, parking, and student drop-off.  Thank you for keeping these in mind to ensure that all our Sea Lions and their families stay safe.
