Principal's Message

Dear Sea Lion Families,

What an incredible week on campus. Our second grade Sea Lions presented their family heritage speeches for their classmates and families. We learned all about the different Sea Lion cultures, family traditions, family crests, traditional clothing, and cultural foods.

Our kindergarteners celebrated the 100th day of school. They wrote, counted, drew, danced, and celebrated everything 100. It was a morning packed with celebrations.

We had a whole school assembly to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Lunar New Year is a celebration of the arrival of spring and the beginning of a new year on the lunisolar calendar. It is the most important holiday in China, and it is also widely celebrated in South Korea, Vietnam, Korea, and East Asia. The Global Cultural Educational Foundation partnered with our Sea Lions to celebrate the year of the rabbit, predicted to be the year of hope.

Finally, PTA held its annual Jog-A-Thon. Students ran as many laps to raise money for McGaugh’s PTA. Thank you PTA, the McGaugh community, and our Sea Lions for your support.

Project SEEK Needs You

In order to fund our Art and STEM classes at McGaugh, we need to raise over $150,000 each year. The Event is our largest fundraiser to help us meet that goal. And we need your help obtaining donated services and goods for our silent and live auctions. If you own a business or know someone that does, or you have connections to tickets, rental properties or special events, please consider asking your friends with businesses or connections to become a sponsor or donate, or donate yourself.

Please contact Robin Dyer, donations@projectseek.org with questions or ideas. You can also click here to get a copy of our donations and sponsorship forms.
