Principal's Message

Dear Sea Lion Families,
This Thanksgiving holiday break went by so quickly. I hope you were able to spend some enjoyable relaxing time with your family and friends. With the gratitude challenge wrapping up this week, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of our McGaugh community. The support we share as a McGaugh community is part of our rich history and tradition, and is something which sets us apart.  I am thankful to work with dedicated staff who are focused on supporting all students.  I am thankful to partner with parents who devote time, energy, and resources to provide students the best educational opportunities. I am thankful to partner with two amazing parent groups (PTA & Project SEEK) who work so hard to provide endless opportunities for our Sea lions. I am thankful to work with the most enthusiastic, inquisitive, and loving bunch of Sea Lions. I am truly honored to be part of this special school community.
Please join McGaugh PTA and Seal Beach Police Department for a presentation on “Surviving Gun Violence”. Although the presentation is not focused specifically on an active shooter incident on a school campus, it is open to all McGaugh parents and Seal Beach community members.

Wednesday, December 7th

Looking for a fun way to spend time with your family and support the Art and Technology programs at McGaugh?  Project SEEK has got the event for you to help spread some Holiday Cheer!  Join us for an evening of Ugly Sweater Themed Virtual Family BINGO on Wednesday, December 7th! BINGO cards will be sold to help raise funds for McGaugh’s enrichment programs. Kids and adults are welcome.
Our 5th graders have the incredible opportunity to participate in Outdoor Science School in February.  I am reaching out to you on their behalf...

As you clean out closets and/or make holiday purchases, please consider donating any gently used winter items your own children may have outgrown.  Specifically, we are in need of winter jackets, waterproof pants, hiking/snow boots, hats, gloves and scarves.  The items are intended for 10–11-year-old students so we are looking for sizes 10 and above.  You may drop off items in our front office.

We want our Sea Lions to be warm and comfortable as they encounter this once in a lifetime experience! Thank you for your generosity and support!
