Principal's Message

Dear McGaugh Families,

It is with great honor that I welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year!!!!  After 30+ years in Los Alamitos Unified, you have no idea how much pleasure it gives me to serve as McGaugh’s principal. I am overjoyed to continue working with the dedicated McGaugh staff, their passion for teaching, their love for our Sea Lions, and their high expectations for all students. Also, I could not be more excited to continue to work with our Sea Lion families, volunteers in PTA, as well as Project SEEK. Finally, I am excited to continue to build connections with our Seal Beach community, Seal Beach Police Department, Chief Philip Glonshak, and the Naval Weapons Station; as I know that the Seal Beach Police Department and our military neighbors are committed to not only providing support for a safe campus and community but also being a strong and visible presence for our staff and students.

The staff, Mr. Larson, and I are excited about starting the new school year together and we are confident that we will have another terrific year filled with exciting learning opportunities for our Sea Lions. I look forward to seeing you on the first day of school at the “school by the sea” where all Sea Lions have endless possibilities.
Below are some important calendar items, updates, and reminders for the upcoming school year.

 McGaugh PTA

Our PTA is so excited to welcome all of our McGaugh families for the 2022-2023 school year.  As a PTA, we are committed to continuing to provide programs, events, and opportunities that enrich the school experience of all McGaugh Sea Lions and their families. We want the year to truly be about COMMUNITY, CONNECTIONS, AND COMMUNICATION.

We have many great events and activities coming up this year, several for the first time, and we would love your support! You can show your support for our McGaugh community by joining the PTA, attending the meetings, and volunteering at our events. There are many ways to volunteer, with as little or as much time as you can. Even volunteering for just one activity or event can make a big difference.

 Project SEEK

Welcome back from Project SEEK!

On behalf of Project SEEK, welcome to the new school year! We are excited to connect again with our amazing school community, back on campus. Each year, Project SEEK fully funds the credentialed teachers in the Art Lab, Innovation Lab, and Sea Lion Lab. Without amazing volunteers and the generous support of you and our community, these programs would not be possible!

Project SEEK is proud to have a dedicated group of volunteer parents and a generous, supportive community who have a passion for kids at McGaugh. We would love for you to join us at our next meeting!

Save the date, Tuesday, September 13th, for the first meeting of the year.

Meet new friends and learn more about how you can help keep these programs alive at McGaugh.

----------------------------------------------

Thank you for your generous support of Project SEEK!

Last year, Project SEEK raised over $140,000 for the Art and Technology Programs at McGaugh. Your generous support will fun two teachers and an aide for the Art lab, Innovation Lab and Media Center for the 2022-2023 school year.

Let’s do it again this year to ensure these programs are a part of children’s education for years to come!

You can help support Project SEEK by becoming a Sea Lion Sponsor and donating to our Fall Donation Drive, www.bidpal.net/sealionsponsor.  We hope you can join us in our efforts to keep these amazing programs running. We are so grateful for your continued support of art and technology at McGaugh!

Wishing all of you a wonderful school year.

Sincerely,
Claudia Vecchio Wille

Project SEEK President 2022-2023
