🍁 VHLC Hope for best Plan for worst *

I’m one of those guys that likes spy movies!

Even in the most threatening or potentially deadly situation, I noticed that a spy remembers to go through prepared steps especially for these hopeless situations. They just don’t give up.

I draw inspiration from these movie scenes because they parallel the challenging moments in my life with VHL “movie”!

  • Kidnapped, blindfolded and about to be tortured, the protagonist starts the strategy of counting seconds and noting turns, sounds, smells, etc.
  • Getting ready to parachute out of a plane, the protagonist practices slow deep breathing while checking his heart rate watch.
  • Even though she was going to be discovered hiding under a bed by the bad guys any minute, she implements a plan: dials her phone and leaves it on the floor. She would then yell out any details she sees so that the phone (person or voicemail) picks it up.

What movies or shows do like? What strategies do use to deal with the challenges of having VHL or supporting someone with it? Henry

*I renamed the subject of this blog that was originally sent Oct 30, 2021. I wanted to see if there was a difference in "open rates"! :)
