A Child's Haven treats children with developmental delays as a result of limited resources, abuse, or neglect, and provides support and education for their families.

On August 29th, I had the honor of becoming A Child’s Haven new Executive Director.  One month on the job, I can share that I am seeing what you probably already know and that is that the A Child’s Haven staff team is an incredible group of men and women.  Team members are trained in their discipline to provide clinical interventions to both the children and their families.  When working with participants, they approach their work with care and dedication.  Support team members, like me, are good stewards of donor dollars and work hard behind the scenes to ensure that all is smooth when working with our families.  To all donors of time and resources, thank you for your generosity.  We cannot do our work without ongoing community support.  Finally, I want to close this message with my personal vision shared with the staff, advisory committee and board - To provide leadership and coaching to ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications and, systems.  Interested in getting involved, volunteering or donating to A Child’s Haven, give us a call!  I can be reached directly at 864.298.0025 ext. 2013.

Laurie Rovin, LMSW, MA

Executive Director

The Lilies enjoyed two great field trips this month! We had a fantastic time exploring Grandma Betty’s Farm during our trip to The Children’s Museum. Our second field trip to Runway Park was a blast; we loved watching planes take off as we played with our friends. We are so grateful to our volunteers for joining us!

The Buttercups enjoyed making three-ingredient cookies using bananas, oatmeal, and chocolate chips! Thank you to Mr. John and Ms. Lydia for baking them for us!

Volunteer of the Month
Barb Lovell!

Over the last three years, Barb has generously given her time to A Child's Haven.  She has assisted in too many ways to name, but could often be found helping with field trips and even dressed up to go Trick or Treating with our children.  Sadly, a relocation to Georgia means that Barb's time with A Child's Haven has come to a close, and we will miss her terribly.  Join me in thanking Barb for her years of dedication and service to A Child's Haven and in wishing her the very best as she settles in to her new home.
