Welcome to Our New Research and Outreach Manager

Amy Armbruster joined Sustainability @ UNC in September. Amy comes to us from the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) where she worked as that organization’s Communication’s Coordinator. Before that, Amy worked at GoTriangle and at UNC Greensboro’s Office of Waste Reduction and Recycling. She has a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies and a Masters in Applied Geography. Amy lives in Carrboro with her husband, two sons, and a rescued lab-mix. She enjoys yoga, hiking, and reading mysteries. Some of her favorite ways to practice sustainability are to choose locally grown and organically produced food and to always carry her reusable water bottle. “UNC has already made huge strides towards zero waste to landfills, net zero carbon emissions, and net zero water usage. I’m excited to work with the campus community to take us to the next level!” You can reach Amy at amy.armbruster@fac.unc.edu.
